Brentwood is Nashville's wealthiest suburb and is located 11 miles south of downtown Nashville on I-65. Brentwood is known for its sprawling executive homes on large lots, Tennessee's best public school system, and as an excellent place to raise a family. Brentwood is vertically dissected by I-65 into two halves: The west side, which is old Brentwood and the east side, which is new Brentwood. Old Brentwood is characterized by rolling hills dotted by hidden estate homes and is where all of the shopping and office buildings are located. New Brentwood, by comparison, is full of newer estate homes in large gated subdivisions and is truly a pillow community. There is a huge concentration of wealth in the area and it's a place where you might see Dolly Parton or Ronnie Dunn cruising the local grocery store.
